The spookiest day of all has finally arrived! Therefore, I bring to you some yummy Halloween treats. Whether you are trick or treating or partying into November, this Halloween food is to be enjoyed by all the ghouls and witches!
These are really fun to make and great if you want an activity that can bring the family or some friends together other than pumpkin carving.
Halloween treat 1: Mummy Brownies.
The first Halloween treat I bring you is mummy brownies and they are sourced by the beloved LoDough. They are equally as scrumptious as any other brownie but only pack 65 calories (3.5 syns) each! It’s as simple as buying a pack (which you can do here) and adding water. Boom, instant dessert. However, what makes these brownies unique are the big eyes peering behind the white chocolate bandages. That’s right, I’ve added white chocolate to a chocolate brownie making a double chocolate fiesta.
Halloween treat 2: Pumpkin caramel cookies.
The second Halloween treat is pumpkin caramel cookies. This creation was inspired by @benispot on Instagram. Go check her out as she has some amazing food content. I added some pumpkin and caramel syrup to these cookies to make them uber autumnal and Halloweeny (is that a word?). They are soft, slightly chewy and everything a cookie should be.
So, ready to enjoy some halloween treats instead of a trick? Then get your witches hat on, your vampire teeth in and cook! (If you dare…).

What I used for this recipe
- 8-inch brownie tray
- Baking tray
- Measuring spoons
- Lodough brownie mix
- Mixing bowls
- Electric whisk
- Greaseproof paper
- Halloween cookie cutters
- Cooling rack
- Cocktail sticks
1 LoDough Brownie Mix
250 ml of water
18 Milkybar buttons
4.5 mini Milkybars
Sweet freedom choc shot
Brownie making: Tear open the bag of magic and sprinkle into a large mixing bowl. Then, measure out your water and pour on top of the mixture.
Getting an electric whisk (I used one like this) stir for 30 seconds to a minute until thick and delicious. I suggest using an electric whisk as this baby gets thick. Once all together, scoop it all into your already prepared tray and spread evenly.
Cooking: Place the tray into toasty oven and consider yourself blessed as you watch a miracle take place for 25 minutes. Once ready, open the doors to heaven and place your brownies onto a cooling rack. I know it’s hard, but leave them for a couple minutes to take shape and begin cooling. Next, lift your brownies with the edges of the baking paper, remove the baking tray and place the brownies back onto the rack. Discard of the paper and cut into 9 glorious pieces.
Cooling: Leave to cool further, or if you’re like me, eat one straight away because you can’t be tamed. Finally, place in an air tight container and pop them into the fridge.
Decorating: Take the chocolate buttons and place 2 on each brownie. Then, squirt some chocshot into a small bowl and grab the cocktail stick. With the flat end of the stick dip it into the chocolate and poke the middle of each button to create an eye. Next, melt the milkybars and once smooth, drizzle it over the brownies in horizontal lines to create the mummy bandage effect.

Eat within 5 days! (they probably won’t last that long, let’s be real).

A spooky cookie recipe.
120g of porridge oats
1 medium egg
5 tbsp of sweetener
2 tbsp of pumpkin caramel sugar free syrup
2 tbsp of quark
1 tsp of baking powder
1 tbsp of water if needed
3 tsbp of icing sugar
Green, black and orange food colouring
Left over quark
Prep: Preheat the oven to 170°C and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and frylight. Then, take the oats and blitz them in a blender until they are fine.
Cookie making: take the blended oats and mix it with them with the remaining ingredients. If the mixture is too stiff then add the water. Once the consistency is doughy and thick, divide it out into 6 balls.
Place them on the baking tray and flatten into a cookie shape. Then, take your cutters and make some spooky shapes! You will find you have some dough left over which you can split into 3 equal balls and then flatten into a cookie shapes.
Cooking: Bake the cookies for roughly 10-13 minutes and once done, place onto a cooling rack and allow to cool.
Decorating: Once the cookies are cool, split the 3 tbsp of icing sugar into separate bowls and mix it with about 1/4 of a tsp of the leftover quark. Decorate the ghosts with the white icing, the bats with the black and the pumpkins with the orange. Once you are finished with the white icing, dye it green and decorate the tips of the pumpkins with it. Drizzle the remaining icing of all colours over the round cookies.
